Eagle Scout Project Completed
Clay E. Wood, of Boy Scout Troop 48 in Jackson, has completed his
Eagle Scout service project.
The project was to capture stories about Jackson and
turn them into DVDs for the archives of the Jackson Historical Society.
The project was called "Memories Of Jackson".
Clay recruited people to interview 11 members of the
community and recorded their stories with a video camera. In addition to
the interviewers, several members of Troop 48 scouts participated by being
the camera operator during the interviews.
Those persons interviewed included: Alfred
"Sonny" Ruston, Wylodine McCormick, Paul Buck, Sigred Sheward,
Eugene Heath, Bernadine Stockmeister, Mary Kathern Smalley, Robert Ervin,
Winifred "Winnie" Blair, Paul Berridge, and Charles Bowman.
The completed 11 interviews total about 7 hours and are on 3 different
DVDs. The Jackson Historical Society will keep the collection in their
archives and hopes to make them available to the public in the future.
